JOB SUMMARY

The primary function of the Data Engineer is to develop and optimize data pipelines and infrastructures that will support business process improvements and enhance analytics solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create proposals to streamline data flows and automate business processes assigned to them.
  • Design and build approved proposals using customized, low-code applications or existing software packages.
  • Create technical documentation and proactively engage with users to continuously improve the efficiency of operational tasks.
  • Optimize data architecture to enable reporting and analytics solutions, improving data accessibility, security, and integrity.
  • Develop extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes to capture, ingest, store, and transform data for optimal reporting and seamless analytics solution development.
  • Design and build data processing pipelines for use-case applications, including high-volume and real-time data delivery.
  • Research the latest innovations in business intelligence and data science, and integrate them with our existing platforms.
  • Stay abreast of the company's digital initiatives and external information technology trends.
  • Scope, manage, and deliver own projects within set timelines, ensuring alignment with overall data analytics initiatives.
  • Perform other related tasks as directed by superiors.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in data engineering or a related role.
  • Capable of designing, developing, and implementing low-code software applications.
  • Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft enterprise technologies such as Office365, SharePoint, and Power Platform.
  • Familiar with agile working practices and the software development life cycle.
  • Proficient in programming languages and toolsets such as SQL and Python.
  • Knowledgeable about ETL processes and data warehouse, data lake, and business intelligence (BI) concepts.
  • Effective in project management, scoping, and delivery according to set requirements and timelines.
  • Strong technical communication skills.
