JOB SUMMARY

The Plant Industrial Engineer will play a crucial role in optimizing manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, improve quality, and ensure the safe and cost-effective production of goods. This position involves analyzing plant operations, designing efficient workflows, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Process Analysis and Improvement:
    • Evaluate current manufacturing processes and identify areas for improvement.
    • Develop and implement process optimization strategies to enhance productivity and efficiency.
    • Conduct time and motion studies to identify bottlenecks and streamline operations.
  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma:
    • Lead Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma projects to reduce waste and improve quality.
    • Train and mentor staff in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.
    • Implement and sustain continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Plant Layout and Design:
    • Design and optimize plant layouts to improve workflow and reduce production costs.
    • Ensure that layouts comply with safety regulations and ergonomic standards.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute layout changes.
  • Capacity Planning and Production Scheduling:
    • Analyze production schedules and capacity requirements to ensure timely delivery of products.
    • Develop and maintain production schedules that align with customer demand and inventory targets.
    • Collaborate with production and supply chain teams to balance load and optimize resource utilization.
  • Data Collection and Reporting:
    • Collect and analyze production data to monitor performance and identify trends.
    • Prepare detailed reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) and improvement projects.
    • Present findings and recommendations to management.
  • Cost Reduction and Efficiency:
    • Identify opportunities for cost reduction through process improvements and technology upgrades.
    • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to minimize production costs.
    • Monitor and control manufacturing expenses.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering.
  • 3+ years of experience in industrial engineering or a similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and statistical tools.
  • Knowledge of CAD software for plant layout design.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certification in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma (e.g., Green Belt, Black Belt).
  • Preferably with experience with automation and Industry 4.0 technologies.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards and compliance requirements in the manufacturing industry.
